The History of MDS

MDS is a Limited Liability Corporation. It was formed in June 1999 by Dr. Michael D. Max and a small group of private investors. Its main focus was to develop and bring to market a new process that could provide inexpensive potable water using hydrate desalination of large volumes of seawater. MDS is currently also developing efficient equipment and processes to extract drinking water from air and to extract water from natural gas as well as a new method for single-phase decontamination of industrial gases such as chlorine. MDS is currently funded mainly through the Office of Naval Research and is associated with the U.S. Army atmospheric water harvesting program. MDS is currently attempting to commercialize a number of its emerging technologies.
